Thundersnow
Sunday, March 1st, 2009We’re getting our first big snow of the winter, and it’s thundering as big, wet, sticky flakes fall. It’s thundersnow.
In about an hour we have gotten about a half-inch accumulation, and the temperature is dropping fast. Traffic’s gonna be a mess tomorrow.
The birds, however, don’t seem bothered. In fact the doves, cardinals, and finches that frequent the feeder on the back deck are pretty much ignoring it, except for the cardinals that almost seem to be playing in the snow piling up on the deck. One dove at the feeder munched away as snow accumulated on its back.
And it’s the first day of March. Isn’t it supposed to be almost spring?
UPDATE: The snow has accumulated so thickly on the satellite dish that we’ve lost TV. Oh noes!
